Nouara Medjber's adventure with FitSpirit began in 2013 at Louise-Trichet High School in Montreal, when she discovered the program through the leader at the time. With her strong background in sports, the mission of FitSpirit immediately resonated with her, prompting her to give girls the opportunity to be active.
During her university studies, Joannie Lévesque interned at the provincial RSEQ and discovered FitSpirit. She then realized that the organization’s values, focused on inclusion, kindness, and accessibility to physical activity for all, perfectly aligned with her personal beliefs.
In 2010, when a colleague introduced him to FitSpirit, Jean Brouillet, a physical education and health teacher at La Camaradière Secondary School, felt immediately drawn to the numerous benefits that this extracurricular activity offers to girls. He decided without hesitation to engage in this beautiful adventure.
Inspired by one of her colleagues who introduced her to the benefits of FitSpirit, Catherine Latulippe, a French teacher in 1st grade at Bromptonville Secondary School, decides to embark on this experience. She immediately finds genuine pleasure in it; a pleasure that has persisted since 2014!
In 2014, FitSpirit entered Rachel Boudreau's life as a gift from above. One of her close friends, then an Ambassador for the organization with whom she shared her passion for hockey, told her about the positive impacts of FitSpirit. Being athletic and enjoying interactions with young people, Rachel seized this exceptional opportunity to introduce FitSpirit to Saint-Bernard College.
Having previously participated in training sessions with her predecessor, Mélanie Perrin was already won over by FitSpirit's mission. Despite her shyness, when the opportunity arose in 2014 to become the FitSpirit Program Leader at Trois-Pistoles Secondary School, this mother of two teenage girls and Zumba instructor did not hesitate to take on the challenge.
Fannie Constantin's journey with FitSpirit began in 2014 when she became the Program Leader at Mirabel Secondary School. Right from the start, Fannie was excited that FitSpirit provided more space for girls in sports and that its services were offered as an extracurricular activity. Three years later, she held the same position at Cap-Jeunesse Secondary School, ultimately continuing this wonderful adventure at Le Flambeau Secondary School since 2023.
Nadine Demers' adventure began when she helped her new colleague launch FitSpirit at her school. Her discovery of this amazing project inspired her to take up the lead and accept the role of FitSpirit school leader at Saint-Anselme high school the following year.
Cynthia Boucher heads up the sports department at Val-Mauricie high school in Shawinigan. When a friend and colleague told her about FitSpirit in 2013, Cynthia jumped on the occasion. And ever since, FitSpirit has been a part of the activities in her school and in her life.
When Karine saw a TV ad for FitSpirit Celebrations, she was immediately overwhelmed with joy. An athlete, mother of three boys and grade 10 history teacher at Mont-Royal high school, Karine saw FitSpirit as the perfect opportunity to fulfill a dream of becoming a role model while tacking the problem of inactivity among teen girls.
Lyne Denis is a recreation technician at the École Polyvalente in Saint-Jérôme, where she is a FitSpirit School Leader since the fall of 2011. Working in a school that welcomes a diverse student body, she was a big fan of the FitSpirit program right from the start because she sees the many benefits it offers: motivation, perseverance, a sense of belonging and a lot more!
While searching the internet for ways to help motivate her students to be active, Audrey Dupuis—a special educator at the des Boisés High School in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts—stumbled upon FitSpirit. Intrigued, she suggested FitSpirit to the school administration, who welcomed the new project with enthusiasm.
11 years ago, Lyne Thériault, a recreation technician and social worker at Sainte-Famille school / aux Trois-Chemins in the Outaouais, fell in love with FitSpirit. Inspired by its mission, she became the school’s FitSpirit group leader.
With a Bachelor’s of Secondary Social Sciences, History and Citizenship, Geography and teaching geography for 28 years at Haute-Ville school in Granby, Guylaine Bolduc has been in charge of the FitSpirit program at her school for 12 years.
Over the last 10 years, Marie-Ève Barrette has been the FitSpirit leader at Polyvalente Le Carrefour.
