During the 2023-2024 school year, 301 partner schools chose to offer a FitSpirit team to their students! The result? 9,746 teenage girls had the opportunity to participate in various physical activities, tailored to their needs and interests.
FitSpirit would like to extend a huge thank you to its Builder and Committed partners. Their generosity allows thousands of teenage girls to benefit from its flagship program: a non-competitive multisport team open to all girls and youth who identify with the FitSpirit approach.
Here’s a glimpse of the incredible projects made possible thanks to these invaluable partners.
In addition to contributing to the development of cognitive and social skills and influencing academic success, adopting healthy habits from childhood and adolescence has a major impact on overall health and well-being.

Educational training is a central element of FitSpirit’s approach as it equips those who support the participants. Through this program, FitSpirit Program Leaders, Team leaders, and Ambassadors learn to identify the barriers to physical activity for teenage girls and how to overcome them, based on their specific needs and evidence-based practices. Additionally, over the past year, specialized training on gender diversity inclusion was also offered.
Thank you to RBC Foundation for supporting this program for the past seven years!
In the Greater Montreal area, FitSpirit is present in only 20% of high schools, compared to 50% in the Capitale-Nationale region, another major urban area. This gap is significant, but thanks to the support of key partners such as the Rossy Foundation, FitSpirit is taking concrete steps to bridge this gap and increase its impact among teenage girls in the metropolis.
In the second year of this program, FitSpirit enhanced the Anti-Stress Bubble tools available on its website to offer several new resources for teenage girls, such as the video capsule "Benefits of physical activity: is it magic or science?" A new section with exclusive content for parents of teenagers was also launched.
Thank you to Beneva for supporting this program!
Through this project, FitSpirit aims to facilitate access to physical and recreational activities for 12 to 17-year-old girls in schools from various Indigenous communities. In 2023-2024, 3 partner schools were located in Indigenous communities, and 2 partner schools welcomed a large proportion of students from nearby communities. In total, nearly 143 Indigenous participants took part in FitSpirit activities at their schools!
Thank you to Manulife for making this project possible through its three-year commitment.
