Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quebec City Father/Daughter Ball which was planned to take place last fall, could unfortunately not be held. However, the need to engage teenage girls in the practice of physical activity has never been more dire and FitSpirit is seeking your help. In the current situation, physical activity and extracurricular sports are essential for our girls. More than ever, they need to be active for their mental and physical health.
This year, FitSpirit’s goal is to increase the number of partner schools in the Quebec City area by 30%. To achieve this, we need to raise $100,000.
You can help reverse the trend towards physical inactivity in teenage girls.
While more boys continue to be active during adolescence, a large number of girls who were physically active during their childhood cease to be as they approachpuberty. By the end of high school, 9 out of 10 girls fail to meet Canadian guidelines for physical exercise.
